Carmine J. Appolonia, Jr.

Carmine J. “Joe” Appolonia Jr., 67, of S William Street, Johnston, RI, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Hope Hospice & Palliative Care RI, Providence, RI. Born on February 10, 1952 in Warwick, RI, he was the husband of Nancy L. (Allen) Appolonia. They were married for thirty-nine years. Carmine was the son of the late Carmine J. Sr. and Millicent (Whittingham) Diaz.

Carmine was a self employed plasterer for many years leaving due to illness. He was a US Marine Corps veteran serving in the Vietnam war. He loved his grand children very much, they lit the room up for him.

Besides his wife Nancy, he is survived by four children; Melissa D. Babcock and her husband Eugene, Stephanie A. Mendez, Donna L. Cornicelli and her husband Stephen and Kristy L. Peterson, three sisters; Sarah Bucci, Carol Parker and Linda Eva, six grand children; Justyn, Gianna, Emily, Cassondra, Isabella and Brady and a great grandson Noah.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI, followed by US Military Honors. Calling hours will be held prior from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Burial will be private.
