James W. Dowling, Jr.

James W. Dowling, Jr., 67 of Pulaski Street, Coventry, RI, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018 at home. Born in Providence, RI, he was the husband of the late Deborah A. (Kenyon) Dowling and the son of James W. Sr., and Dorothy V. (Sanzi) Dowling.

James was the owner and operator of SCS Inc., Coventry, RI for thirty-five years. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1972.  He was the former President of Coventry Girls Softball League and was honored by having a softball field named after him called James W. Dowling, Jr. Field, Coventry, RI.

Besides his parents he is survived by three daughters; Adreth E. Carlson, Byron L. Carlson and Catherine J. Dowling, a sister; Marjorie A. Garcia, four grandchildren; Cameron, Ayden, Trevor and Bailey.

A Celebration to honor Jim's life will be held Saturday, February 17th, 1:00pm at Anthony PNA (15 Meeting St, Coventry, RI 02816). If possible, please bring any photos, articles or mementos to share or display.
