Joseph R. Muzzy, Jr.

CWO3 Ret. Joseph R. Muzzy, Jr. age 85, of Coventry passed away peacefully at home Friday, November 27th, 2015. He was the loving husband of Drusilla (Tucker) Muzzy and son of the late Joseph R. Muzzy, Sr. and the late Opal (Dewey) Muzzy. He was the devoted father of sons Joseph and his wife Nancy, Michael and his wife Melissa, William and his wife Emily, and daughters Kimberly, Sharon and Patricia. He also leaves six grandchildren and a great grandchild. He was predeceased by brothers Donald, Harvey, Michael and sisters Alice and Eleanor and leaves brother John and sisters Josephine and Dorothy, many nieces and nephews, and his cat Victoria.

Joseph proudly served his country in the US Army in the Vietnam and Korean Wars. He earned a business management degree from Johnson and Wales University and was the assistant manager of Apex for 25 years. He was the owner of CIS Investigation Services, Inc for 35 years and was an active member of The American Legion Post 2 in West Warwick, the RI National Guard Retirees Association and RI Fraud Investigators. He was a former Knight of Columbus and longtime member of St. Francis Episcopal Church in Coventry.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, December 2nd from 4:00-7:00 pm at Gorton-Menard Funeral Home in Coventry. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 3rd at 10:00 am at Gorton-Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Burial with full military honors will follow and will be held in Greenwood Burial Grounds Cemetery, Coventry, RI.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion Post 2 in West Warwick.
