Philip E. “Pops” Brodeur, (Ret. Sgt. Warwick PD), 65, of Red Oak Drive, Coventry, RI, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Kent Hospital, Warwick, RI. Born in Warwick, RI, he was the husband of Jacqueline M. “Jackie” (Jacavone) Brodeur. They were married for twenty-eight years.

Philip was a police officer for the Warwick Police Department, Warwick, RI, for twenty-six years until retiring. He was a member of the East Greenwich Police Department, a member of RI College Campus Police, a member of the West Warwick Elk’s Lodge #1697 and the first male member of the Kelley Gazzerro Post 2812 Auxiliary.

Besides his wife he is survived by six children; Jennifer Moore, Phillip T. Brodeur, Melissa Brodeur, Jason Brodeur, a member of the Warwick Police Department, Cory Brodeur and Ryan Brodeur. He was predeceased by a daughter Lori Remak. He is also survived by two brothers; Ronald Brodeur and Robert Brodeur, a sister; Loraine Kilpert, six grandchildren; William, Alexis, Celine, Anastasia, Phillip and Levi, a son in law; William Remax and former husband to Shelia Smith.

A celebration of Philips life will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 12:00 (Noon) at the Kelley Gazzerro Post #2812, 1418 Plainfield Pike, Cranston, RI.
