William D. Potter

William Donald Potter, 69, of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at home. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Donald and Adeline (Sousa) Potter.

William was an inspector for the city of Providence, RI, for thirty years until retiring. He was a volunteer fire fighter for Harris Fire Department, Coventry, RI, for twenty years and served on the Coventry School Committee for thirteen years.

He is survived by two sons; Patrick Potter and his wife Marie and Mark Potter and his wife Dani, a brother; Robert Potter and three grandchildren; Elisabeth, Adam, and Cecelia.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Funeral and burial services will be private.
