Alfred DeCoste Obituary

Alfred J. DeCoste, 91, of Fairview Avenue, Coventry, RI passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Riverview Healthcare Community, Coventry, RI. Born on January 24, 1930 in Chelsea, MA, he was the husband of the late Kathleen (Golden) DeCoste and the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (DeCoste) DeCoste.

Alfred was a firefighter for the City of Providence for forty years before retiring in 1983. He was a US Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. Alfred was an avid gardener, he enjoyed carpentry and loved spending time with his family.

Alfred is survived by two daughters; Patricia Sherry and her husband Joseph and Susan DeCoste, a brother; Edward DeCoste, a sister; Isabelle Pattie, and two grandchildren; Ellen Sherry and Zoey Sherry. He was predeceased by a sister; Mildred Scoco.

Alfred’s services will be private.
