Armand E. Girard

Armand E. Girard, 99, of South Main Street, Coventry, RI, passed away on December 17, 2021, at home. Born on July 18, 1922, in West Warwick, RI, he was the husband of the late Claire L. (Lavoie) Girard and the son of the late Alphonse and Blanche (Cotnoir) Girard.

Armand was a millwright for various mills for many years before retiring. Armand was a US Navy Veteran serving in WWII. He was a member of the VFW Post, Coventry, RI.

Armand is survived by five children; Donald Girard, Sandra Balcom, Terry Femling, Christine Bliss and Dennis Girard, eight grandchildren; Ronda Balcom, Gary Femling, Robert Femling, Claire Diaz, Renee Stockton, Amber Bliss, Troy Bliss and Madison Girard and six great grandchildren; Amelia, Everly, Braylee, Zaden, Gabriel and Logan. He was predeceased by a son David Girard, two brothers; Alphonse Girard and Roland Girard and a sister; Lillian Phillips.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 24, 2021, at 9:30 am in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Burial with US Military Honors will be held in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
