Betty Jean Warhurst, 68, of Wright Way, Coventry, RI, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 19, 2021 surrounded by her family at Kent Hospital, Warwick, RI. Born on November 13, 1952 in Milford, ME, she was the wife of John H. Warhurst. They were together almost thirty years and were married for over twenty years. She was the daughter of the late Walter B. and Phyllis M. (Fitzgerald) Carlow.
Betty was a cook at Camp E-Hun-Tee, Exeter, RI for many years before retiring in 2010. She enjoyed working with high risk children while she was there. She also enjoyed walking her dog Lucky, spending time with family and close friends, keeping a meticulous home and a beautiful yard. Jean would do anything she could to be there for you, especially when you needed her the most. She always wanted the best for those she loved. We have no words for losing her so unexpectedly and she will be greatly missed.
Besides her husband John H. Warhurst, she is survived by two daughters; Tammy J. Drake and Coreena M. Pestano and five grandchildren; Krysta J. Drake, Adam W. Drake, Joshua E. Lavallee, Kayla L. Lavallee and Tyler J. Lavallee. She was predeceased by a late husband Philip E. Maloney and a brother; Frank Carlow.
Betty’s services will be private.
In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to the RI ASPCA, 186 Amaral Street, Riverside, RI 02915.
