Claire Y. (Boisvert) Coughlin

Claire Y. Coughlin, 77, of West Warwick, RI, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at Kent Hospital, Warwick, RI. Born on May 11, 1943 in Providence, RI, she was the wife of Timothy J. Coughlin. They were married for fifty-seven years.  She was the daughter of the late Hermas and Marie (Pichette) Boisvert.

Claire was an administrative assistant for thirty-eight years at Kent Hospital, Warwick, RI before retiring in 2013.  She was a devout Catholic and was part of her parish prayer network.  She was a very loving and devoted wife and very loving and generous mother.  She took great pride in taking care of her family and her home which was always filled with plenty of warmth, love and kindness, and room for everyone.  She was an avid clock collector, loved shopping, puzzles, games, daily rituals with her cat Lilly, and most of all, spending time with her family.  She was a very happy and blessed lady.  She will forever be loved and greatly missed.

Besides her husband Timothy J. Coughlin, Claire is survived by four children: Timothy J. Coughlin Jr. and his wife Christine, Kristin Joly, Patrick Coughlin and his wife Sharon, and Carolyn Coughlin.  She was the beloved grandmother of Kelsey Coughlin, Patrick Coughlin II, Malcolm Joly, and her predeceased baby granddaughter: GwenStacey Claire.  She is survived by her five sisters: Therese Myette, Bertha Dube, Jeannette Laliberte, Irene Galligan and Pauline Jutras, and was predeceased by a sister: Florence Madden and a brother: Ronald Boisvert.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 10:00 am in the Ss. John & James Church, 20 Washington Street, West Warwick, RI. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, care of Ss. John & James Church.
