Delores (Jerolymack) Mac Coy

Delores Mac Coy (Jerolymack) 89, passed on Sunday, April 10, 2022 in Griswold, CT at the home of her daughter. She formerly resided in Coventry, RI with her late husband Edward K. Mac Coy.

On Sunday, April 10, 2022, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away surrounded by the love and support of her family. She was known as Doe, Nan, or Mom. Doe was the daughter of John and Edna (Berger)Jerolymack. Widow of Edward K. Mac Coy. She leaves behind her brother Charles (Doris) Jerolymack and her sister and brother-in-law Elaine and Ed Edwards. She also leaves behind her six children: Eddie (Ginny), John (Denise), Linda (Pete), Carol (Steve), Michael and Tracy. Her ten grandchildren; Patrick (Robin), John (Sara), Daniel (Erica), Emily (Matt), Graham (Nicole), Stacey, Michael, Anthony, Ashley (Jess), and Amy. Her eight great-grandchildren; Devin, Natalie, Brooklyn, Gabrielle, Layla, Milo, Connor, and Grace. She is also survived by beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law Geraldine (Bob) Heaton, sister in laws and brother in laws Claire (Richard) Bettez, and Lee (Jeanette)Mac Coy.

Mom was all about family. She was known for her artistic abilities with cake decorating, interior design, embroidery, sketching, painting, and sculpting with clay. She had a green thumb and loved working outside, raking her yard and planting flowers and vegetables. She previously volunteered at Kent Hospital in the pediatric wing. She also provided her beautifully decorated cupcakes multiple times for the Coventry Library bake sales. She also worked as a nanny. Her biggest joys came from spending time with her grandchildren and dogs, Jonny and Bentley. She was full of vitality, positivity, character, wisdom, and most of all fun. She was always there for us when we needed her. She will be greatly missed by all of us.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at 11:00 am in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Calling hours will be held prior from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Burial will be in the River Bend Cemetery, Westerly, RI.
