Dorothy A. (Sousa) Rogers

Dorothy A. Rogers, 94, of Manchester Circle, Coventry, RI, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021 at Alpine Nursing Home, Coventry, RI. Born on July 8, 1926 in West Warwick, RI, she was the wife of the late John J. Rogers and the daughter of the late Frank and Clara (Frates) Sousa.

Dorothy was a cook in the school lunch program for the State of Rhode Island for twenty years until retiring in 1991. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time with her family. She was an avid reader and a very talented seamstress.

Dorothy is survived by two daughters; Joyce Kaczenski and her husband Joseph and Judy A. DeGraide and her husband Joseph, a brother; Ronald Sousa, a sister; Hazel Medeiros, a granddaughter; Amy Prisco and partner Jeff, two great grandchildren; Gillian and Caleb and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved grandson; John DeGraide, two sisters; Lillian Rebella and Lydia Vadeboncoeur.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 11:00 am at Sts. John & Paul Church, 321 South Main Street, Coventry, RI. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Coventry, RI.
