Frank J. Tatalo, 92, of Phillips Hill Road, Coventry, RI, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Woodpecker Hill Health Center, Greene, RI. Born on July 21, 1928 in Providence, RI, he was the husband of the late Dorris E. (Denham) and the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Cionfolo) Tatalo.
Frank was a foreman for Ward Baking Company, Providence, RI, for thirty-six years. After that he worked at Ferguson Perforating and Wire Company, Providence, RI and the Town of Coventry, RI, in the Parks & Recreation Department.
Frank was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, serving as a Corporal in the 40th Infantry Division.
Frank was a member of the Wallum Lake Rod & Gun Club, Coventry Boxing Association, West Bay Korean War Veterans Association of RI and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed raising birds, hunting and gardening.
Frank is survived by four children; Sharon A. Tatalo, Joseph Tatalo, Laura T. Freeman and Paula Boucher, a sister; Thomasina Vaphiades, eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by three sisters; Catherine Barth, Lucrezia Bevilacqua and Martha Clarke.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. A Military Honors service will follow at 10:30 am in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, RI.
