Harold W. Baton

Harold W. Baton, 83, of Victory Highway, West Greenwich, RI, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, at Alpine Nursing Home, Coventry, RI. Born on March 2, 1940, in Exeter, RI, he was the husband of Shirley E. (Koszela) Baton. They were married for fifty years. He was the son of the late Arthur Sr. and Elizabeth (Krus) Baton.

Harold was the building inspector for the Town of West Greenwich, RI, for many years before retiring in 2001. Prior to that he was the owner and operator of Baton Construction, West Greenwich, RI for many years. Harold was a US Army veteran serving in peacetime.

Besides his wife Shirley Baton, Harold is survived by two children; Suzanne Baton and fiancé John Peltier and Selena Figueroa and her husband Alan, four sisters; Eleanor Smith, Nancy Tanner, Linda Baton and Deborah Baton and her husband Robert Hawkins, two grandchildren; Joshua Clark and Melanie Rivera and two great grandchildren; Jace Rivera and Danica Lindlar.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 11:00 am in the Maple Root Cemetery, 221 Harkney Hill Road, Coventry, RI.
