Henriette E. (Belleville) Streker

Henriette E. Streker, 86, of Gardiner Road, Richmond, RI, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 24, 2024. Born on August 19, 1937, in Warwick, RI, she was the wife of the late John E. Streker.

Henriette was the daughter of the late Harry and Emma (Bedard) Belleville. She was predeceased by her two sisters: Beatrice Ford and Pauline Vanasse, her brother Arthur Belleville, and her twin brother Henry Belleville.

Henriette is survived by five children: Mark Pelletier, Denise Adoptante, Scott Pelletier, Brian Pelletier and his wife Kim Pelletier, and Michelle Belleville and her husband Dylan Cristy. Henriette was a stepmother to John Streker, Peter Streker, Michael Streker, Edward Streker, Thomas Streker and Mary Streker. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was devoted to her extensive family.

Henriette was a proud graduate of St. Francis Xavier Academy class of 1955. She was employed in the Research Department of The Providence Journal newspaper for more than 25 years before retiring in 2001.

Henriette enjoyed playing cards with her family, traveling, embroidery, gardening, cooking and crossword puzzles.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 4:00 pm in the Gorton – Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Calling hours will be held prior from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, Henriette would appreciate a plant of your choice be placed in your home garden in her memory. Any donations should be made to a children’s charity.
