Hope I. Bailey, passed away on June 10, 2020 at Riverview Healthcare Community, Coventry, RI, at the age of ninety-seven. She was the daughter of the late Joseph N. and Evelyn M. (Smith) Bailey.
Hope resided in East Greenwich and Warwick most of her life. She worked at Berkander Mfg., Leviton Mfg. and East Bay Community Action.
Hope was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and Antioch Chapel, where she was a Deaconess and the church organist. Occasionally Hope would play her beloved trumpet. She loved her music and wrote a song that was recorded “Happy Birthday, Jesus”. She also loved to write poems one of which was published in “The Golden Treasury of Great Poems”, “God's Coloring Scheme”. As a young girl Hope belonged to the East Greenwich Drum and Bugle Corp. where she looked forward to marching in the local parades.
Hope was the sister of the late Gwendolyn Hart, Joseph, William, Mildred, Walter “Bob” Bailey, Muriel Kissinger and Ruth Waterman. Hope is survived by many nieces and nephews.
