James Fox Obituary

James J. Fox, 97, of Columbia Avenue, Coventry, RI, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at South County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, North Kingston, RI. Jim was born on September 23, 1925, in Providence, RI. He was the devoted husband of the late Gloria (Virginia Barone) Fox for 65 years.

Jim served in the US Navy during World War II as an Aviation Radioman Second Class. He then was a principal for Coventry Public Schools for forty years before retiring in 1975. Through most of his life, he was an avid tennis and golf player. His entire life, Jim was a walker.

Jim is survived by three children: Paul J. Fox, and his wife Janet, John J. Fox, and his wife Jean, and Cathy Fox, and her husband Randy Lamb, and son-in-law Steve Deming. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Melissa, Briana, Jessica, Ayla, Naysh, Anya, Hannah, and Karla, and eight great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter; Mary Fox-Deming.
