Phyllis M. Dexter, 82, of Moosup Valley Road, Foster, RI, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Kent Hospital, Warwick, RI. Born on July 28, 1938 in Warwick, RI, she was the wife of the late Henry Dexter and the daughter of the late David M. and Dorothy (Parker) Greenwood.
Phyllis was a realtor for Long Realty, Scituate, RI, for many years until retiring in 2005. Prior to that she was the past Foster Town Treasurer, Foster, RI. She was a member of the Eastern Star, member of the Foster Ambulance Corp, the Foster Old Home Days. She was also a past and long time member of Moosup Valley Grange, Foster, RI, a member of Rice City Congregational Church, Greene, RI, Moosup Valley United Church of Christ, Foster, RI and most recently she spent time with the first graders at Western Coventry Elementary School, Coventry, RI.
Phyllis is survived by three children; Susan Oldroyd, Patricia Morrison, Henry W. Dexter, a sister; Dorothy Hall, five grandchildren; Donald, Renee, Elizabeth, Christopher and Henry, six great grandchildren; Jennifer, Connor, Isabella, Jackson, Olivia and Shawn and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother; Kenneth Greenwood and three sisters; Brenda Young, Evelyn Cote and Eleanor Greenwood.
Phyllis’ services will be private.
