Thomas V. LaFazia, 79, of Healey Brook Court, Wakefield, RI, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Alpine Nursing Home, Coventry, RI. Born on March 20, 1941 in Providence, RI, he was the husband of Brenda (Bumpus) LaFazia and the son of the late Thomas D. and Catherine P. (Casey) LaFazia.
Thomas was a foreman for the number plate shop department at the RI Adult Correction Institution, Cranston, RI before retiring in 2005. Prior to that he was a tool maker for Moris & Brown, Cranston, RI for fifteen years.
Thomas enjoyed everything about the ocean. He also was a very good cook and loved animals, especially his dog “Teddy”. He was also noted for the many hats that he wore. Thomas was a very kind and generous individual with a very good sense of humor. He was a devoted friend of Bill W. He was very active in his church, Grace United Methodist Church, Westerly, RI.
Besides his wife Brenda, he is survived by two sons; Steven LaFazia and Scott LaFazia, a sister; Donna Miller, a brother; Frank LaFazia and three grand children; Kristin Kendall, Kassie LaFazia and Alex LaFazia. He was predeceased by a son Thomas A. LaFazia, three brothers; James LaFazia, John LaFazia and Donald LaFazia and a sister; Beverly Wilson.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the Grace United Methodist Church, 10 Park Avenue, Westerly, RI, 02891. Burial will be private.
