| George K. "Brownie" Brown, 83, of Victory Highway, West Greenwich, RI passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Kent Regency in Warwick, RI. Born in Johnston, he lived most of his life in North Scituate, RI. He was the husband of the late Janet C. (Rohrig) Brown and the son of the late George K., Sr. and Isothene (Harris) Brown. George was the original owner of Brownie's Woodworking in North Scituate, RI. He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII, serving from 1943 to 1947, and was one of five of the elite "Hard Hat Divers". He was also a member of the Advent Christian Church in Scituate, RI, and then worked with alcoholics at the Trinity Assembly of God "Blue Dome" Church in Johnston. George is survived by three daughters; Claudi-Ann Paull of Coventry, RI, Cindi-Lu Orlando and her husband Gregg of Pitsfield, ME, and Cherri-Lyn Amaral and her husband Joe of West Greenwich, RI, twelve grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Stanley and a sister, Marilyn. His funeral services will be private. |
