Life Legacy
Howard T. Phillips, 87, of Manchester Circle, died Sunday, July 4, 2010 at the Kent Hospital. Born in Coventry, he was the husband of the late Lillian D. (Girard) Phillips, and son of the late Fred A. and L. Maude (Mitchell) Phillips. Mr. Phillips was a driver for Parente's Oil for twenty-five years before retiring in 1986. He was a WWII Army veteran, serving as an engineer for three years. He was a member of the VFW, Coventry Episcopal Church, and AARP. His funeral will be held on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 9:00 am from the Gorton–Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI, with a funeral service to be held at the RI Veterans Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter at 10:00 am followed by military honors.
