Life Legacy
Leo N. Caya, 85, of West Street, West Warwick, RI, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the Coventry Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Coventry, RI. He was married to Madeleine M. (LeMonde) Caya for 55 years. Born in West Warwick, RI, on March 13, 1926, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Eugenie (Plante) Caya. Leo was a Seaman First Class Veteran of the US Navy and served during the Korean Conflict from 1946 until 1953. He was also a conveyor packer for Stanley Bostitch in East Greenwich, RI for fourteen years before retiring in 1991.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son; Bruce Caya, a brother; Robert Caya, two sisters; Sister Cecile Imelda and Alice A. Hartley and a grandson; Daniel Caya. He was predeceased by four brothers; Wilfred Caya, Lionel Caya, Charles Caya and George Caya, and two sisters; Jeanette Golomb and Eva Siembab.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 10:00 - 11:00 am with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 am from the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Burial will be private.
