Frederick G. "Freddy" Boenig, Jr., 70, of Samuel Gorton Avenue, Warwick, RI, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 21, 1948 in Norwich, CT, he was the husband of Joan M. (Wright) Boenig. They were married for nine years. He was the son of Charlotte E. (Wilson) and the late Frederick G. Boenig, Sr.

Frederick was a windshield repair person for Glass America, Cranston, RI until retiring. He was a US Navy Veteran during the Vietnam War and also a friend of Bill W.

Besides his wife Frederick is survived by five children; Rebecca Boenig, Heather, Steven McCaffrey, James McCaffrey and Tina McCaffrey, two brothers; Jerry Boenig and Ronald Boenig, a sister; Karen and four grandchildren; Donald, Khallie, Thomas and Drew.

A church service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Riverside Congregational Church, 15 Oak Avenue, Riverside, RI. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Burial with US Military Honors will be held in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
