Harkless G. Peterson, 93, of Cantaberry Lane, Coventry, RI, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Kent Hospital,Warwick, RI. Born in East Providence, RI, he was the husband of the late Virginia A. (Lewis) Peterson and the late Ellen (Lachapelle) Peterson. He was the son of the late Over G. and Gertrude (Macomber) Peterson.
Harkless was an exterminator for New England Pest Control, Providence, RI, for sixty-two years until retiring. He was a US Navy Veteran serving in WWII.
He is survived by a daughter; Sharon A. Pierce and her husband Frank and a son; Arthur G. Peterson and his wife Constance, a brother; Alan Peterson, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by three brothers; Emil Peterson, Gilbert Peterson and Robert Peterson and a sister; Gertrude Jacques.
A funeral home service will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 10:00 am in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. A calling hour will be held prior from 9:00 to 10:00 am. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Coventry, RI.
