Mildred F. (Coon) Briggs, 82, of Division Road, East Greenwich, RI, peacefully passed away at Kent Hospital, Warwick, RI, on Saturday, September 23, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late William C. Briggs.
She is survived by her brothers Raymond, Richard and David Coon. Mildred (Bunny) was a favorite aunt to a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Edmund and Mildred (Trumble) Coon, brother Edmund Coon Jr., William Coon, Jimmy Coon and a sister Helen Bean.
A lifelong resident of East Greenwich, RI, Mildred was very proud of her long career at New England Telephone where she worked for over 40 years before retiring. After her retirement, she enjoyed traveling to Maine with her husband, spending time with her family and just enjoying life to the fullest.
A memorial service for family and close friends will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 10:00am in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home and Crematory, 721 Washington Street Coventry, RI. Burial will be private.
