Robert Schroder Obituary

Robert D. Schroder, Sr., 89, of Coventry, RI, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2019, at home. Born on June 9, 1930, in Glen Ridge, NJ, he was the husband of LaVerne (Stinn) Schroder. They were married for sixty-four years. He was the son of the late Walter and Mae (Gleason) Schroder.

Robert was a self-employed delivery driver for Arnold Bread for twenty-eight years until retiring in 1996. He was a US Army veteran serving in the Korean War. Robert was also a member of the Bloomfield Athletic Hall of Fame, Bloomfield, NJ.

Besides his wife he is survived by a son Robert D. Schroder, Jr., a daughter; Diane Schroder, a sister; Dorothy Moser, four grandchildren; Kelley, Kimberly, Ryan, and Jennifer, and two great-grandchildren; Xavier and Alexandra. He was predeceased by a grandson James Jacob

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at 10:00 am in the Sacred Heart Church, 76 Broad Street, Bloomfield, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 2, 2019, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm from the Van Tassel Funeral Home, 337 Belleville Avenue, Bloomfield, NJ. Burial will be held in the Brigadier General William C Doyle Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
