Sandra A. (Smith) Parenteau, 71, of Read Avenue, Coventry, RI, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017 at home. Born in West Warwick, RI, she was the wife of the late Alfred G. Parenteau and the daughter of the late Robert H. and Florence Mae (Tourgee) Smith.
Sandra was a CNA for Coventry Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation for fifteen years until retiring in 2009. She also worked at Kmart of Coventry, RI in the camera and jewelry department, for Sears Department Store in the candy department and Coventry Narrow Fabrics.
She enjoyed shopping and searching for a good bargain, loved spending time with her grandchildren, and loved her pets and rides to the ocean.
Sandra is survived by two sons; Gerard R. Parenteau and his wife Wendy and Alan M. Parenteau and his wife Sandra, a daughter; Yvette F. Michael and her fiance Michael and nine grandchildren.
A funeral home service will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 10:00 am in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Burial will be in the Greenwood Burial Grounds Cemetery, Coventry, RI.
