Susan M. (Coutu) Robidoux, 63, of Hope Valley, RI, passed away on August 17, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Pawtucket, RI, she was the cherished daughter of Doris (Cauley) Coutu.

Susan was the beloved wife and best friend of Roger Robidoux.

Sue graduated from Bishop Keough High School and received her BA in Social Welfare from Rhode Island College. She completed the Human Resource Certification Program at Bryant College. Susan was most recently employed by the University of Rhode Island in the Human Resource Department.

A former PATH International Registered Therapeutic Riding Instructor, Susan had been a volunteer at Phoenix Rising Equine Rescue and Mitchell Farm Equine Retirement Center, Inc. She was also a Reiki Master.

Susan was devoted to her family and friends, who were all charmed by her beautiful smile, infectious sense of humor, her incredible ability to listen, her unconditional love and her zest for life. She loved dancing, hiking, reading, biking, travel and took great pride in decorating her lovely home. Sue had a life-long affinity for horses and dogs, and loved her cat, Maddy and her brown dog, Tully.

Sue’s incredible strength and positive attitude were inspirational to all who were blessed to know her.

Susan is survived by “her boys”: Jeff Robidoux and his son John, (the apple of her eye) and Ryan Robidoux (and his girlfriend, Jess).

Sue was the treasured sister of Patricia Coutu of Cumberland, RI, Eddie Coutu and his wife, Kathy, of South Attleboro, MA and Kathy Catino and her husband, Bill of Richmond, RI.

She was the loving sister-in-law of Sonny Robidoux, and his wife, Janet of North Smithfield, RI and Kim LaRoche and her husband, Mike of Cumberland, RI.

Sue is survived by many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly: Kristen Sinclair and her husband Al, Michael Trudel and his wife Erin, Brad Coutu and his wife Tammy, Kyla Benedetti and her husband Nick, Kerri Catino-Nason and her husband, Chris and Billy Catino and his wife Jilleen, Tyler and Jordan Sinclair, Abbey and Braden Coutu, Siena, Dylan, and Bianca Nason, Max and Parker Benedetti, Stacey DiStfano and her husband Brian, Jody Smigelski and her husband Mark, Laura and Sean Morse, Brianna LaRoche, Nick and Bryan Halar, Tyler and Sophia DiStefano and Kendal and Breck Smigelski.

Our special thanks to all who provided loving care to our beloved Susan including the visiting nurses, the Hope Hospice staff –the wonderful nurses and CNAs, Sandy Brouwer and Karen Bruscini from Hands of Wisdom and Ancient Wisdom for the New World. You gave her such respect and peace.

A celebration of her beautiful life will be held September 3, 2017 at Whispering Pines on the Alton jones campus of the University of Rhode Island. From 12:00 - 2:00 pm guests will be greeted and refreshments will served. At 2:00 pm, family and friends are invited to participate in a spiritual ceremony that will celebrate Sue 's wonderful life. From 3:00 to 4:00 pm guests are welcome to linger and enjoy the beauty of the setting, perhaps even stroll through the woods. Casual attire is recommended for all those attending.
