Bernard R. Grundy

Bernard R. Grundy, 95, of Arnold Road, Coventry, RI, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Respiratory and Rehabilitation Center, Coventry, RI. Born on June 27, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the husband of the late Theresa (Vadnais) Grundy and the son of the late Bernard and Carolyn (Wilson) Grundy.

Bernard was a lace weaver for Levers Lace Company, West Greenwich, RI, for forty-five years before retiring in 2008. Bernard enjoyed spending time with his family, Archery and flying remote control planes. He was a US Army veteran serving in WWII in the 11th Airborne Division. He was also a member and founder of the Narragansett Bow Club and a member of the VFW, Coventry, RI.

Bernard is survived by three children; Robert W. Grundy, Pamela Charlwood and her husband Gary, Alan L. Grundy and his wife Robin, a sister; Carolyn Fontaine, eight grandchildren; Robert Grundy, Kerri Volante, Kimberly Denton, Nathan Grundy, Janine Salois, Hilary Salois, Christian Kuykendall and Kyle Grundy, thirteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sons Jeffrey Grundy and Steven Grundy, a brother; George Grundy and three sisters; Annamae Escher, Elenore Shute and Alice Cervini.

A graveside military honors service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 12:00 (Noon) in the Greenwood Burial Grounds Cemetery, Coventry, RI.
