Bertha M. “Sis” Colvin, 80, of Old Plainfield Pike, Scituate, RI, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. Born on January 30, 1945, in Warwick, RI, she was the wife of the late Richard N. Colvin and the daughter of the late Charles J. and Agnes (Young) Worthington.
Bertha was a devoted homemaker who cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved visiting Disney World, gardening, dancing, and watching sports. She generously volunteered in many fundraising efforts supporting local fire departments. Bertha was a dedicated member and leader of 4‑H and a member of the Potterville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughters Joanne Duncan (William), Louanne Marcello (Thomas), Bethanne Colvin, Suzanne Adams (Ryan), and Roxanne Marsland; her grandchildren Bethany Duncan, Richard Duncan (Heather), Jonathan Duncan, Richard Marcello, Kayla Breault (Scott), Jessica Adams, Riley Adams, Kylee Marsland, and Eliza Marsland; and her great‑grandchildren Kinsleigh Duncan, Madison Duncan, and Miles Breault. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Gorton‑Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Coventry, RI.
