Carmela Marks Obituary

Carmela Marks, 82, of Beaver Hill Road, North Windham, CT, passed away peacefully and comfortably, at her home, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. She struggled over the years with many illnesses, that she was able to overcome, Breast Cancer, Uterine Cancer, Bladder Cancer, Ovarian Cancer and living with Diabetes.  This time, fighting a new battle of Lung Cancer and several years of Dementia. She is at peace and is at rest.; no longer needing to find the strength to fight anymore!

She was born on October 8, 1941, in Providence, RI.  She is the widowed wife of the late Robert B. Marks and the daughter of the late Salvatore and Josephine (DiMatteo) Alessandro.  I am sure her husband Robert has been waiting for her and they are back together, in peace!

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her favorite dogs, Diesel and Roxie and every now and then, she enjoyed a good scotch and water. Babies brought her such joy!  She enjoyed the sunshine on her face and the hustle and bustle of all the kids in and out of our home. She smiled often and never complained.  She never needed to say much, her smile filled the room!

Carmela is survived by four sons: Dana Marks and his wife Crystal, Stephen Marks and his wife Ana, Robert Marks and his wife Chris and David Marks. She had a sister, Susie Pescarino, who passed May 15, 2019, and is missed tremendously; along with her husband, Anthony, who also passed.  She predeceased her favorite and only brother Carmen Alessandro and his wife Donna.

She had nine grandchildren: Kasia and Julia, Jaelynn, Devin and Camrin. Melanie, Olivia, Robbie and Brianna. She also had 2 great-grandsons, Tyler and Gavin.  She also leaves many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and great nephews, who she loved dearly!
