Carol (Anderson) Andrea, born in Providence, RI in February 1937, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026. Cherished by all who knew her, Carol’s warmth, kindness, and devotion to her family and friends left a lasting legacy.

Carol was the beloved daughter of Helga O. (“Tiny”) Anderson and Mary B. (McDonald) Anderson. Carol was the loving wife to Anthony L. Andrea Sr., who passed away in August of 2025. She was the proud mother of Anthony L. Andrea Jr., Virginia Mary Andrea, and Brian Andrea Sr. and his wife Sandra.
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Brian Andrea Jr. (and his wife Kaitlin), Ashley Marra, and Melanie Marra, as well as her great-grandchildren: Renee', MaKenna, and Raiden. Carol is also survived by her brother-in-law, David Andrea; his wife, Kathleen; and their daughter, Michelle.
Carol is predeceased by her sister Jean Jones, brother Niles Anderson, grandson Stephen N. Powers II, and niece Deborah M. Burton.
Carol’s Life and Legacy
Growing up in Cranston, RI, Carol met and later married her high school sweetheart, Anthony, in 1957. They enjoyed 68 years of marriage together. They built a life centered around family, love, and shared adventures. Carol enjoyed the simple pleasures of living on Johnson’s Pond—boating, swimming, playing cards, and entertaining loved ones with her generous hospitality.
After a fulfilling career at Ocean State Credit Union, Carol transitioned into retirement, eventually settling in West Warwick, where she spent her remaining years surrounded by family and friends. This new chapter allowed her to fully embrace her passions, especially her love for cooking and sharing meals with others.
A Heart for Others
Carol’s passion for food was matched only by her friendly demeanor, which made everyone feel instantly welcome in her presence. Friends and family fondly recall how a visit to Carol’s home meant not only a delicious meal but also heartfelt conversation and laughter. Her generosity extended beyond her circle; each holiday season, Carol sent handwritten letters of encouragement to service members overseas, bringing them comfort and a reminder of home during difficult times. Many recipients cherished these notes, sharing later how her thoughtful words brightened their spirits in distant lands.
