Carolyn M. (Tourgee) Parente

Carolyn M. Parente, 88, of Matteson Road, Coventry, RI, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, December 12, 2025. Born in Coventry on June 27, 1937, she was the beloved wife of the late Donald Parente. They shared 56 years of marriage. She was the daughter of the late James E. and Helen M. (Remington) Tourgee.

Carolyn worked as a custodian at Amtrol Incorporated in West Warwick for 25 years before retiring in 1990. After retirement, she continued to stay active in the community, working for many years as a supporter at Kim Holly’s in Coventry. She was a longtime member of the Eastern Star.

She enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, visiting the casino, and spending time with her family—especially her grandchildren and great‑grandchildren.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Kim Holly Parente and Susan L. Lamelin; her siblings Loxi Ellingwood (David), Janice Cornell, and Brian Tourgee (Stephanie); her grandchildren Michael Parente (Sally), Courtney Mattson (Brent), Robert Lamelin, Samantha Parente (Robert), Stephanie Parente, and Luca Parente; and her great‑grandchildren Alexander Parente, Logan Mattson and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son, Timothy A. Parente, and her siblings Sharon Pero, Lynn Leber, Russell Tourgee, Gilbert Tourgee, and Phyllis Lewis.

Carolyn’s service will be private.
