Charles W. Sidelinger, 81, of Blackrock Road, Coventry, RI, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at home. Born on October 15, 1939 he was the husband of Janet (Fogg) Sidelinger. They were married for sixty-one years. He was the son of the late Clifton and Mildred (Stillman) Sidelinger.
Charles was a carpenter for Local 330, Warwick, RI, for thirty years before retiring in 1989. He was a US Navy Veteran serving during peacetime for six years on the USS Sullivans Destroyer DD537. Charles was a 1957 graduate of Warwick Vets High School where he was an All State athlete. He was a former member of Club Jogues, Coventry, RI, for fifty years and was also a past Chairman of the Board. As a member, he assisted in organizing the annual golf tournament and also served on various committees. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, socializing at Hattoy’s Nursery, visiting Don’s Auto Tops and fishing with his son Jeffrey on his boat. He was also an avid sports fan.
Besides his wife Janet Sidelinger, he is survived by two sons; Stephen Sidelinger and his wife Maryann, Jeffrey Sidelinger and his wife Jeannette and a daughter; Joanne Angiolilli and her husband Alan, a brother; Douglas Sidelinger, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Charles' services will be private.
