David A. Breene

David A. Breene, 84, of Woodland Drive, Coventry, RI, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Respiratory & Rehabilitation Center, Coventry, RI. Born on November 17, 1937, he was the husband of the late Rosalie (Swindelles) Breene and the son of the late John J. and Carolyn B. (Albro) Breene.

David was a welder for Electric Boat, North Kingstown, RI, for twenty-five years before retiring in 1998. Prior to that he was a lace weaver for Mishnock Lace Mill, West Greenwich, RI. David was a US Navy Veteran serving in peace time.

David is survived by two sons; Douglas Breene and his wife Wendy and John Breene, two daughters; Lisa Meriwether and Brenda Meriwether-Leonard and her husband Stephen, a sister; Emily Jones and eight grandchildren; Christopher, Ashley, Maxwell, Zachary, Delaney, Connor, Mallory and Brighton. He was predeceased by a brother; Kenneth Breene.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022, at 6:00 pm in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Calling hours will be held prior from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Burial will be private.
