Donald J. Harvey, 95, of Sharpe Street, West Greenwich, RI, and formerly of Englewood, FL, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. Born on June 26, 1929, in Wichita, Kansas, he was the beloved husband of the late Eunice (Reasin) Harvey and the devoted son of the late Ben and Bernice (Jones) Harvey.
A graduate of the University of Wichita and proud U.S. Air Force veteran, Donald served honorably during the Korean War as a member of the 84th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, stationed at Hamilton Air Force Base in San Francisco, CA. His post-military career spanned over 20 years as an engineer with Raytheon in Andover, MA, where his innovation and dedication left a lasting legacy.
Donald was a man of quiet strength and warm generosity. He found joy in family gatherings, cherished rounds of golf, and gave freely of his time as a dedicated volunteer at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Londonderry, NH and St. David’s Episcopal Church in Englewood, FL. His wisdom, humor, and kindness touched all who knew him.
He is survived by his sons, Christopher Harvey, wife Laura of Appleton, WI and David Harvey, wife Lynn of West Greenwich, RI; two sisters, Lois Stultz of Venice, FL and Judith Rayer of Cascade, CO; grandchildren, Leighann Harvey of Appleton, WI, Evan Harvey, wife Leslie and great-grandson Shepard of Philadelphia, PA. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Beth Burris of Wichita, KS
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 10:00 am in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, RI, followed by US Military Honors.
