Doris M. (Lavoie) Wood

Doris M. Wood, 79, of Main Street, Coventry, RI, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024, at Riverview Healthcare Community, Coventry, RI. Born on December 21, 1944, in Warwick, RI, she was the wife of the late Thomas R. Wood. They were married for sixty-two years. She was the daughter of the late Joseph M. and Sarah M. (Shaw) Lavoie.

Doris was a homemaker to her loving family. She worked at various businesses part time through the years. She was also an aid for five years at Gospel Temple Christian Academy, West Greenwich, RI.

Doris is survived by three children; Thomas E. Wood, Russell R. Wood and Holly Wood-Young, a sister; Joan Orlando, six grandchildren; Thomas E. Wood Jr., Christopher Wood, Kelly Wood, Brittany Blain, Jason R. Wood and Danielle Bailey, eight great grandchildren; Layla, Lexi, Stacey, Tyson, Christopher Jr., Damon, Jude and Vann. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Bethany Bailey.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the Gorton – Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Burial will be private.
