Dorothy A. (Crowley) Mathias

Dorothy A. (Crowley) (Craig) Mathias, 59, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Providence, she was the cherished daughter of the late Herbert and Doris Crowley.

Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Arthur Mathias, and her brothers, Herbert (Anna) Crowley and George (Marie) Crowley. She is survived by her devoted brother David (Dee Dee) Crowley. Dorothy was a loving mother to her sons, James Craig and Daniel Craig, and her daughter, Jessie Lee (Joseph) Tilson. She was the adored grandmother of Avery and Aria Tilson, Dorothy also leaves behind her former husband, James Craig Sr., and her long-time companion, Robert Mathias.

In her early years, Dorothy expressed her creativity while working in the jewelry industry. A compassionate and selfless humanitarian, she dedicated much of her life to helping others through her work at Child lnc. and as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant and Optician until her illness.

Dorothy will be remembered for her sharp wit, infectious sense of humor and the way she could bring laughter to any room. She was a strong, independent woman and a loyal friend to all who knew her.

A celebration of Dorothy's Life will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 1:00 pm. at Gorton - Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Burial will be private.
