Edward F. McNeil

Edward McNeil died of natural causes before dawn Tuesday morning at home with his family. He leaves behind his wife of 46 years Sandra (Stovall) McNeil, his son Shawn McNeil, daughter Kelly McNeil, daughter-in-law Amber McNeil, son-in-law Wayne Wilkinson, his 8 grandchildren Cheyenne, Caitlyn and Wayne Jr, Xavier, Gabriel, Aubree, Adeline, and Bradley, and 2 great grandchildren Roman and Aurora. He also left behind several brothers and sisters.

Ed was exceptional in many ways, he was charismatic, thoughtful, charming and brave, but his greatest strength was his complete lifelong devotion to his wife Sandra. Their love broke all the rules, beat the odds and silenced the doubters. He was her knight in shining armor, her guardian angel, her biggest fan, her everything and she was his voice of reason, his strength, his foundation, his best friend. Ed was a man of honor and courage. He believed in speaking his mind, had the ability to tell you a painful truth, tell you the things you needed to hear but didn't want to, then make sure you walked away with a smile on your face and your dignity intact. Edward Francis McNeil was and always will be Eddy, Dad, Grampy and Papa. His impact on our family will live on and help to shape the character of future generations of the McNeil family. He was our harbour in the tempest. A man who was a shark on the pool table, an adoring husband. A quick wit, a stoic leader in times of crisis. Tough as nails, giving and kind. He was our hero, a shining example of how to overcome adversity and how to be a husband. Ed (Dad, Grampy, Papa) you will always be in our thoughts, we will never forget the impact you had on each and every one of us. Thank you for being such an incredible man. We love you!
