Elsie Newman Obituary

Elsie I. Newman, 93, of North Quidnessett Road, North Kingstown, RI, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Bayview Rehabilitation at Scalabrine, North Kingstown, RI. Born on April 30, 1931, she was the wife of the late Walter Newman and the daughter of the late Henry and Laura (Robinson) Greenhalgh.

Elsie was a cashier for Ken’s Market, Coventry, RI, for eighteen years and for Stop & Shop, Coventry, RI for eighteen years until retiring.

Elsie is survived by two brothers; James L. Greenhalgh and John H. Greenhalgh, a sister; Edna Padula and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five siblings; Mary Stockton, Ethel Simpson, Pearl Demers, Margaret Kettle and George Greenhalgh.

Elsie’s service will be private.
