Ethel M. (Greene) Steeves

Ethel M. Steeves, 92, of Coventry, RI passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Kent Regency in Warwick, RI. Born on July 29, 1932, she was the wife of the late Harold E. Steeves and daughter of the late Lloyd B. Greene and the late Susan (Corp) Greene and the stepdaughter of the late Barbara J. Greene.

Ethel graduated from Katherine Gibbs and worked in Boston throughout her early 20's before marrying Harold, her beloved husband of 59 years. Ethel enjoyed knitting, doing crossword puzzles, rug hooking and visiting friends. She was an active member of the Woman's Fellowship at several churches throughout her life. She was also actively involved with Pioneer Girls and a former registrar for New England Camp Cherith in Alfred, Maine. In addition to their annual summer vacations on Cape Cod, Ethel and Harold loved to travel, oftentimes via cruise ship or to Canada to visit family.

Ethel is survived by her two daughters; Karen R. Dainty and her husband Jon, and Cynthia L. Fox and her husband Jim; her two granddaughters, Nicole B. Fox and Stephanie R. Fox, and her sister Diane Ruark and her husband Larry.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 182 Seven Mile Road, Hope, RI 02831. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Tabernacle Baptist Church Memorial Fund, or the RI Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
