Eugene F. Bates

Eugene F. Bates, 79, of Woodland Drive, Coventry, RI, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Kent Hospital, Warwick, RI. Born on June 24, 1943, in Providence, RI, he was the husband of the late Rita (Meunier) Bates. He was the son of the late Percy A. and Ethel H. (Buck) Bates.

Eugene was a slot machine attendant for Foxwoods Casino, Ledyard, Ct. for many years before retiring in 2013. He was a member of Wood River Fishing Club, Exeter, RI, and the Rhode Island local chapter of Trouts Unlimited.

Eugene is survived by five children; Stephen Bates, Jennifer Bates, Christopher Bates, Susan Lee and Kevin Bates, a sister; Lillian Neal, five grandchildren; Monica Almonte, Martin Almonte, Curtis Lee Jr., Mason Lee and Yvonne Lee, a niece Bernadette and a nephew Randy. He was predeceased by a brother; Edward Bates.
