Fernande M. (Laplante) LaRoche

Fernande M. LaRoche, 78, of West Warwick, RI, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020 peacefully at her home. Born on July 23, 1943 in Coventry, RI, she was the daughter of the late Elphege and Rosiane (Martin) Laplante. Fernande was the beloved wife of Joseph LaRoche for forty-three years, who predeceased her in 2015.

Ferdi is survived by four children; Robert G. Powers Jr. (Valentina Powers) of Coventry, Michael A. Powers of Exeter, RI, David H. Powers of West Greenwich, RI, and Patricia A. Kuncio (Ronnie Kuncio) of Pittsburgh, NH. She was a devoted grandmother of ten grandchildren, Jake, Samantha, Ryan, Mike, Lisa, David, Julianna, Mackenzie, Stephanie and Alexandra (both perished) and a great grandson, Wyatt. She is now rejoined with her late siblings, her brother and five sisters.

For many years, Fernande served as an exceptionally valued and highly respected local sales clerk before her retirement. She will always be remembered for the love and admiration she displayed towards family, friends, and her neighbors.

She enjoyed many of life’s simple pleasures such as spending time with the ones she loved most. They are remembering her as a trustworthy relative and friend to share a laugh with, touching many lives and always giving a helping hand when she had the chance.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 10:00 am in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. A calling hour will be held prior from 9:00 to 10:00 am. Her burial will be private in the St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich, RI.
