Harold E. Steeves

Harold E. Steeves, 83, of Lear Drive, Coventry, RI, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Kent Hospital, Warwick, RI. Born in Arlington, MA, on July 23, 1936, he was the husband of Ethel (Greene) Steeves. They were married for fifty-eight years. He was the son of the late Seymour J. Sr. and Sarah E. (Rugg) Steeves.

Harold was the vice president of finance for St. Anne’s Hospital, Fall River, MA, for fifteen years until retiring in 2000. He was a US Army veteran serving in peace time. Harold was a fellow in the Healthcare Financial Management Association and a past president of the Massachusetts Chapter. He also served as the treasurer for Middletown Baptist Church, Middletown, RI and Tabernacle Baptist Church, Fiskeville, RI. Harold was an avid beach lover and enjoyed many cruises with his wife Ethel.

Besides his wife Harold is survived by two daughters; Karen Dainty and her husband Jon and Cindy Fox and her husband Jim, two brothers; Ronald Steeves and Robert Steeves, a sister; Muriel Casper and two grand-daughters; Nicole Hedden and Stephanie Fox. He was predeceased by a brother; Seymour J. Steeves Jr.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 10:00 am in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. A calling hour will be held prior from 9:00 to 10:00 am. Burial will be private.
