Obituary

Hazel M. (Sousa) Medeiros, age 92, of Coventry, an editorial assistant at the Kent County Times, West Warwick for 30 years before retiring, died on September 1, 2021. She was the wife of the late Joseph S. Medeiros. Born in West Warwick, a daughter of the late Frank and Clara (Frates) Sousa, she was a resident of West Warwick until moving to Coventry in 1965. She was a member of the Graphic Communications International Union Local 12. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Czenstochowa Parish in Coventry.

She is survived by a son, Stephen J Medeiros and his wife Lynn, and a daughter, Sandra A. Gelineau and her husband, Michael, both of Coventry, and her brother Ronald F. Sousa of Coventry. She is predeceased by her three sisters, Dorothy Rogers, Lillian Rebella, and Lydia Vadeboncoeur.

Hazel also leaves four grandsons, a granddaughter, a step-granddaughter, and many great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, September 13 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, 445 Washington St, Coventry.
