Helen P. Phillips

Helen P. Phillips, 86, of Manchester Circle, Coventry, RI, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024, at Riverview Nursing Home, Coventry, RI. Born on July 16, 1938, in Coventry, RI, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Lylas (DeVere) Phillips.

After living in California for twenty years she returned home to Coventry where she was employed by the Coventry School Department for sixteen years before retiring in 2003. She enjoyed going to Foxwoods Casino & Resort, CT, bus trips to Atlantic City, NJ, loved animals and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was the beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by nine siblings: Dorothy Carr, Viola Burgess, Barbara Garro, Lylas Gorton, Anna Gorton, William D. Phillips, George C. Phillips, Robert R. Phillips, Thomas A. Phillips and Donald Phillips.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 11:00 am in the Gorton – Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. A calling hour will be held prior from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Coventry, RI.

In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
