Joan M. (Lavoie) Orlando

Joan M. Orlando, 78, of Cowesett Avenue, West Warwick, RI, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Kent Hospital, Warwick, RI, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Born on September 11, 1946, in West Warwick, RI, she was the wife of Robert E. Orlando. They were married for sixty-two years. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah (Shaw) Lavoie.

Joan was a homemaker to her loving family. She enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed yard saling and was an excellent sewer creating quilts, curtains and shower curtains.

Besides her husband Robert Orlando, Joan is survived by a daughter; Barbara J. Pires, two grandchildren; Brittny Hutchings, Stephanie Silva known as cupcake, five great grandchildren; Logan Hutchings, Ryleigh Hutchings, Mason Neal, Maverick Neal and Sophie Neal, two nephews Thomas Wood and Russell Wood and a niece; Holly Young. She was predeceased by a brother; Leo Lavoie and two sisters; Dorris Wood and Rita Graves.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 11:00 am in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Burial will be in the Notre Dame Cemetery, West Warwick, RI.
