Joan E. (King) Palazzo

Joan E. Palazzo, 87, of West Greenwich, RI, passed away at home on Saturday, July 20, 2025. Born on September 4, 1937, in South Kingstown, she was the beloved wife of the late John A. Palazzo and daughter of the late Irving and Julia (Gardner) King.

Throughout her life, Joan was committed to supporting others. She worked for many years as a special needs assistant for the State of Rhode Island, and also served as a dedicated assistant at both Woodpecker Hill Nursing Facility and Leydens Tree Farm. Her love of gardening and stonework reflected her appreciation for nature’s beauty, and her passion for community service touched many lives.

Joan is survived by her children—Ronald, Joan, John, Kenneth, and Lisa—her siblings Hazel, Carol, Irene, Dale, Dwight, and Clifford, her granddaughter Cassandra, great-grandchildren, and her cherished cat Oreo. She was predeceased by her son Arthur, and siblings Ginny, Caroline, Gary, Robert, and Irving.
