John J. Nascimento Sr.

John J. Nascimento Sr., 73, of Mile Road, Coventry, RI, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023, at home. Born on March 23, 1950, in Taunton, MA, he was the husband of the late Patricia S. (Lawrence) Nascimento and the son of Hilda (Cambra) Rezendes and the late Joseph Nascimento.

John was a roadside assistant for AAA Automobile, South Kingstown, RI, for twenty-three years before retiring in 2021. Prior to that he was a ship fitter for Electric Boat, North Kingstown, RI, for seventeen years. John enjoyed NASCAR Racing, fishing, football, professional wrestling and hockey. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and appreciated all their support in his time of grief. 

John is survived by a son; John J. Nascimento Jr. and a daughter; Nicole L. Capwell and her husband Robert, II, five grandchildren; April Capwell, Brianna Capwell, Logan Capwell, Nadia Capwell, Robert Capwell III, four great grandchildren; Jacob Fredette, Ryan Fredette, Robert Capwell IV, Grayson Capwell.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Gorton – Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Burial will be private.
