John T. Shaw

Shaw, John (Jackie) Thomas, 75, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, passed away in February 2025. Born in Greenville, RI, on January 20, 1950, a son of the late Barbara (Remington) Shaw and Richard Arthur Shaw. A 1969 graduate from Coventry High School, John worked briefly at Stackbin Corporation, Lincoln R.I. John moved to Pompano, Florida in the 1970’s where he owned and operated Shaw Manufacturing, a metal stamping and fabrication company for over 35 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping in the Everglades, and sailing.

Former husband of Robin Cleary, of Coventry, RI, and Mary Ann Robinson, of Florida. John is survived by his son, Scott Shaw, and daughter-in-law, Frances, of Coral Springs, Florida; daughter, Casey Shaw, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and sister, Marilyn (Shaw) Wimbley, and brother-in-law, Robert, of Benson, North Carolina. He was the brother of the late Lucille Shaw and Richard A. Shaw Jr.

Graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Coventry, RI on July 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
