FORD, Joseph Manuel Sr., 73, of Coventry, passed away after a long battle with cancer surrounded by loved ones on November 15, 2024. He was the husband of Nancy L. Ford.
Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Joseph and Madeline (Stanley) Ford. As a child, Joseph’s family moved to West Warwick where he met his junior high sweetheart, who then became his wife. They married in June of 1969 and began raising their family in Providence, RI. After having three children Joseph worked 70/80 hours a week to earn enough money to move his family to their home in Coventry, RI in 1976, where he spent the remainder of his life.
Joseph was a retired truck driver of 50+ years, most of which was driving cross country through every state in the US except Hawaii and Alaska.
Joseph’s enjoyments through his life included: playing cards, listening to music, playing several instruments, painting, gardening, but most of all spending quality time with family and cooking for the weekly family night dinners.
Joseph was a strong outspoken hardworking man. He was also a giving kindhearted man. He faithfully donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as well as Make A Wish Foundation.
He is survived by his three children, Amy J. Ford, Nancy L. Ford, and Joseph M. Ford Jr. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Jessica (Ford) Pascucci, married to Ronnie Pascucci and Amanda (Ford) Davis, married to the late Gregg Davis. He is also survived by his three great grandchildren. Gemma Haskell, Maverick Pascucci, and Landon Ford. Joseph had thirteen siblings; Shirley Handy, the late Carol Kindberg, the late Albert Ford, Joyce Ullucci, Joseph C. Ford Jr., Deborah McKanna, Henry Ford, William Ford, Madeline Auger, Richard Ford, Kathleen Chase, Charles Ford, and Susan Poncin.
Joseph’s wishes were to have no services. In his memory, feel free to donate to his favorite charities as mentioned above. St. Jude Children’s Hospital and/or Make a Wish Foundation.
